On The Job Training (Week 5)

5th Week

On the fifth week of our OJT, we continued developing the system using Laravel for the backend and React for the frontend. We started by coding the CMS and finished the Landing Page based on the design we made in Figma. To make it easier for the team to work together, we used GitHub and created a separate fork to manage changes. We also updated the Landing Page, added custom color names in Tailwind to match our Figma design, and started working on the layout of the profile page. We spent some time scanning documents and updating the Monitoring Google Sheet as well.



As the week went on, we focused more on the Admin Side of the system. We designed and added the profile page and sidebar, then pushed our updates to GitHub. We also created subpages for the three RDE divisions, including a hero section with the division head’s photo and name, placeholder buttons for sub-divisions, and an announcement section. In addition, we designed and added the Login and Register pages. Before the week ended, we spoke with Sir Cedric and Ma’am Llovido to clarify what data should appear in the Reports section of the system.

Second Week  Day 5 (February 11, 2025) On Day 5 of this week, we continued digitizing progress report documents provided by our mentor. In the afternoon, we had a discussion with Ma’am Llovido regarding the plans and necessary steps to initiate and complete our mentorship plan. On-The-Job-Training (Week 1)

 First Week Day 1 The first day of our on-the-job training (OJT) was a mix of excitement and nervousness as we stepped into a new environment. We began by meeting our mentors, introducing ourselves, and getting to know them. Shortly after, we attended the orientation where Computer Science (CS) students presented their ongoing project in RDMD—one that we would be assisting with throughout our training. Following the demonstration, another orientation took place, where we were assigned tasks based on our skills and expertise. This allowed us to see where we could contribute and what we would be learning. Afterward, we took a group photo with the CS students and had a discussion about their system, gaining insights into its development and future improvements. On The Job Training (Week 9)

 9th Week This week, we continued working on the CMS using WordPress. On Monday, we made changes to the Division Pages like RDMD, PKMD, IPMD, EMD, and the centers. Instead of making separate “About Us” pages for each sub-division, we just added their details to the main division pages. This made the site easier to use and more organized. Since Tuesday was a holiday, we had a break from our OJT and resumed work on Wednesday. On Wednesday, we worked from home because of a power outage in the office. We used Discord to talk to each other and Messenger to reach out to the CSSP students. We spent the day adding content to the CMS as we waited for the materials made by CSSP. On Friday, we added more content and updated the “Historical Background” section. Since all divisions had the same background, we placed it on the homepage. Later that day, we also helped move some shelves and papers around the office. After that, we were treated to some pizza as thanks.
