On The Job Training (Week 3)
On the ninth day of our OJT, we mostly did the same tasks as before, such as scanning documents. However, we also had a short discussion with Ma’am Llovido about the system we were working on and made a mockup layout for the CMS. We also finalized our mentorship plan, which outlined our tasks for the entire training period. On the tenth day (February 18, 2025), we continued scanning documents in the morning, which were given to us by Sir Russ. We also met other OJT students from CSSP, introduced ourselves, and later attended a meeting with the mentors, staff, and CSSP students to present the CMS layout. We received helpful suggestions, and after lunch, we started working on the CMS prototype in Figma. On the eleventh day (February 19, 2025), we focused on improving the system prototype. Ma’am Llovido informed us that the CMS project was approved by ICTO Director Sir Aris, and she mentioned that the design should be similar to the Bicol University Website. Because of this, we made some changes to our prototype, specifically the Landing Page and About Us Page. On the twelfth day (February 20, 2025), we continued working on the CMS prototype in Figma, using a smart TV as an extra screen to make it easier to see and discuss our work. This setup helped us quickly spot and apply changes. That day, we designed the Article List Page and Article Page, made updates to the Featured section of the Landing Page, and later presented our progress to staff and mentors for feedback. On the thirteenth day (February 21, 2025), we took a break from the CMS mockup and helped with clerical work since RDE had deadlines to meet. Our tasks included organizing files, printing, and scanning documents, which were then uploaded to Google Drive. We split the work—some focused on scanning, while others handled printing and checking documents for changes, such as removing pages or making sure abstracts were included. One of us was also assigned to create certificates and an e-poster. The weather was also really bad that day, with heavy rain causing class suspensions and an early dismissal.
