On The Job Training (Week 7)

7th Week

On the seventh week of our OJT, I added placeholder items to the footer to match the official Bicol University website. Some of our group members were called to help our mentor with tasks like preparing PowerPoint templates and were sent to the main campus to assist and monitor assigned work. The next day, we made a few more adjustments to the footer and were asked to help with a Zoom dry run for the upcoming In-House Review. Tasks were divided, such as helping the tech team, checking breakout rooms, and taking screenshots. After that, we started working on a new feature for the system a File Manager, which for now is only a preview and not yet linked to the database.

By midweek, we prepared more for the In-House Review, we had another dry run for the Zoom event and finalized our assigned roles for the actual day. On the day of the review, we helped run the Zoom session smoothly by assisting with technical work, taking screenshots, and accepting participants. Some of us handled tasks both online and onsite. After the event, we also created a presentation slide for the winners of the review.

At the end of the week, we held the awarding ceremony at the Amphitheater in BU East Campus. We helped prepare the stage, set up sound systems, and ran the presentation slides. Everything went smoothly without major problems. After the ceremony, we presented our developed CMS, but it was decided that the CMS would not be continued since it would take too much time to finish and maintain. Instead, we were advised to rebuild it using WordPress. In the afternoon, I used the time to study WordPress, focusing on how to use the Elementor plugin to build pages more easily.
