On The Job Training (Week 6)

Image
6th Week This week, we continued working on the system and decided to stay in the conference room to talk more freely while working. I made some changes to the Login Forms and worked on coding the Forgot Password page. We also organized the system’s assets like images by sorting them based on the pages they belong to. This helps us find and update them more easily. The next day, we finished coding the Hero Section with a working carousel and added some items to the Navigation Menu. We also started using a project management app called Plane to track our tasks better by placing them in "Todo," "In Progress," and "Done" sections. For the rest of the week, we made a mix of small and big changes to the system. We polished design elements like dropdowns and the Hero Section and added functions in the backend for creating divisions and articles, although they aren’t shown on the website yet. We adjusted the Create Article modal and the Admin Sidebar by fixing ho...

On The Job Training (Week 5)

5th Week On the fifth week of our OJT, we continued developing the system using Laravel for the backend and React for the frontend. We started by coding the CMS and finished the Landing Page based on the design we made in Figma. To make it easier for the team to work together, we used GitHub and created a separate fork to manage changes. We also updated the Landing Page, added custom color names in Tailwind to match our Figma design, and started working on the layout of the profile page. We spent some time scanning documents and updating the Monitoring Google Sheet as well. As the week went on, we focused more on the Admin Side of the system. We designed and added the profile page and sidebar, then pushed our updates to GitHub. We also created subpages for the three RDE divisions, including a hero section with the division head’s photo and name, placeholder buttons for sub-divisions, and an announcement section. In addition, we designed and added the Login and Register pages. Before th...

On The Job Training (Week 4)

4th Week Another week has passed, and we have continued the clerical tasks assigned to us. Our daily routine involved scanning and printing documents alongside our fellow OJT students from CSSP. I took a brief break to participate in a tournament due to the prize pool. However, after the event, I got back promptly returned to assist them in completing our tasks for the day. Most of the week, we focused on printing documents while the CSSP students handled the scanning. In the afternoons, we double-checked everything to make sure all certificates and abstracts were printed. As the deadline got closer, some CSSP students even worked overtime to keep up with the workload. Midway through the week, we got a new Google Sheet, so we had to shift our focus to checking files in Google Drive. Each row in the sheet listed a document that needed verification, remarks, and printing. Since we had a tight schedule, we stayed a little longer to complete faculty research documents on time. While s...

3rd Week   On the ninth day of our OJT, we mostly did the same tasks as before, such as scanning documents. However, we also had a short discussion with Ma’am Llovido about the system we were working on and made a mockup layout for the CMS. We also finalized our mentorship plan, which outlined our tasks for the entire training period. On the tenth day (February 18, 2025), we continued scanning documents in the morning, which were given to us by Sir Russ. We also met other OJT students from CSSP, introduced ourselves, and later attended a meeting with the mentors, staff, and CSSP students to present the CMS layout. We received helpful suggestions, and after lunch, we started working on the CMS prototype in Figma. On the eleventh day (February 19, 2025), we focused on improving the system prototype. Ma’am Llovido informed us that the CMS project was approved by ICTO Director Sir Aris, and she mentioned that the design should be similar t...
